Earth Day 2026: Teaching the Next Generation About Bees at Ortega Methodist
Earth Day 2026: Teaching the Next Generation About Bees at Ortega Methodist

This Earth Day was extra special — I had the privilege of bringing the world of bees to a wonderful group of young learners at Ortega Methodist Preschool in Jacksonville, Florida.
Sharing the Wonder
The children were absolutely captivated as I showed them a real honeycomb frame up close. Their eyes widened with curiosity as they saw the hexagonal cells, learned about the queen, and discovered how busy worker bees keep the hive running. One little one in a green shirt couldn’t resist reaching out to touch the golden comb!
Speaking at Riverside Rotary Club: The World of Beekeeping
I am honored to have been invited to speak at the Riverside Rotary Club tomorrow morning, February 4th.
As a Master Beekeeper, I am always excited to share the fascinating world of honeybees with our local community leaders. We’ll be diving into the importance of pollinators, the challenges bees face in North Florida, and what it takes to maintain healthy apiaries in Jacksonville.
